The main event of the convention is the banquet.  In addition to the announcement of the various fish show winners as well as other award winners, the banquet consists of a Funny Money Trivia contest in which each table competes to win funny money.  After the trivia contest, the funny money is then used to bid on real items such as live fish and hard goods (the funny money contest / auction is worth the price of admission alone, as hundreds of dollars of fish and hardgoods will be available for bid with play money). Anyone that went to the banquet at FOTAS 2019 will tell you that the banquet is not to be missed no matter the price!
